‘our mission is to provide the largest collection of carbohydrates available anywhere’
The Dextra Catalogue
Over 18 years we have steadily expanded our product range from a small group of synthesised sugars to over 700 compounds covering monosaccharides and building blocks through to the most complex group of oligosaccharides now obtainable from any supplier. We acquire carbohydrates by synthesis, extraction from plant, animal and bacterial sources, enzymatic manufacture and fermentation. We apply the highest standards of purification and quality control to ensure that our products meet customer needs.
In response to enquiries and requests from customers we have greatly extended the range as part of our mission to provide the largest and unrivalled collection of carbohydrates available to scientists anywhere in the world. We have increased the list of N-glycans, we have whole new families of oligosaccharide core structures and we have a new category of oligosaccharides with an amino terminal for immobilization and glycoarrays. Also, as part of the Summit Group, we are now able to offer an diverse selection of imino sugars and we are expanding our list of glycosaminoglycans.
In addition to some simple structures we have an extensive collection of protected intermediates, halogenated sugars and unusual lactones available as building blocks and basic research tools.
We have increased the range of core structures and have now classified them into structural families, lactose, lacto-N-tetraose, lacto-N-neotetraose etc. There is now an extended group of blood groups antigens including A and B pentasaccharides and complex Lewis structures.N-Glycans. Here too there are many new compounds particularly in the complex, high mannose and paucimannosidic categories. We are now able to offer all the range of glycans found on human IgG species.
Amino-functionalized oligosaccharides
We have introduced 30 new glycyl oligosaccharides including Lewis antigens, sialylated compounds and N-glycans including some bi and tri antennary oligomannoses. They enable solid phase immobilization for the preparation of glycoarrays, glycochips and glyconanoparticles
This group has a great many interesting properties including glycosidase inhibition, inhibition of cytokine pathways and chaperoning proteins. It will be a focus for our future development and we hope to be able to offer libraries for screening in the near future.
We are introducing new products with both higher and lower degrees of sulphation to provide tools for exploring structure function relationships and for screening purposes.
We have developed a large range of neoglycoproteins using proprietary linker technology and can offer several linker sugar combinations with different chain lengths. The range has been extended to include more monosaccharide neoglycoproteins. We can also make affinity matrices using our linker technology to suit customer requirements.
Carbohydrate Building Blocks
We are able to supply an extensive selection of modified carbohydrates that can be used for coupling reactions and complex syntheses to save time in customer work programmes. These products include trichloroacetimidates, thioglycosides, glycols, amino sugars and carboxylic acids
Compound Libraries
In addition to our catalogue listed compounds we have a further collection of over 600 carbohydrates for screening purposes. The list is available on request.
