Dr Karen Etherington: Analytical Services Manager

Karen joined Dextra Laboratories in 2006 to manage the analytical and quality functions at the Reading site. Having worked for the WHO, been instrumental in the founding and expansion of Warwick Analytical Service, the head of Analytical Chemistry at Ultrafine and SAFC in Manchester she has significant experience in the research, development, manufacturing, quality and regulatory activities related to the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients.

Dr Andy Hacking: Catalogue Manager

Co-founder of the company. Specialist in the biological functions and medical applications of carbohydrates. Specific interests in neoglycoconjugates, biotransformations, the immunology of carbohydrates, carbohydrate vaccines and the role of carbohydrates in evolution.

Dr Alex Weymouth-Wilson: Custom Synthesis Manager

Alex completed his graduate and postgraduate education at the University of Reading receiving his PhD in 1993 under the supervision of Professor John Mann. With 14 years' experience in the fine chemical industry at Dextra, Isochem and CMS, Alex has extensive synthetic experience developing innovative scalable routes to key intermediates and API's predominately in the field of carbohydrates. Alex has been Director of Chemistry at Dextra since 2003.
